How is smoking cost calculated?
Divide the price of a pack by the number of cigarettes it contains, then multiply by the number you smoke each day. Multiply that daily cost by 30 for a 30-day estimate, or by 365 for a yearly estimate.
Daily cost = pack price ÷ pack size × cigarettes per day
For example
At $10 for a pack of 20, smoking 20 cigarettes a day costs $10 a day, $300 over 30 days, or $3,650 over a year. Those are example inputs, not an average cigarette price.
How much could I save by quitting?
The results show the cigarette spending you could avoid if you stop buying cigarettes. Your actual savings depend on future prices, changes in how much you smoke, and any other costs. The estimate does not include investment returns.
